Commander Alexander (Alex) Patterson joined the Sussex County Sheriff's Office in late October of 2020. He had originally begun his LEO career in the Sussex Metropolitan Police Department and climbed to the equal level of Lieutenant, but decided to transfer over to explore his options of the community more, and was promoted to the rank of Captain a few months later. Currently, he is in the F.A.D.E. division as an Agent Supervisor, hoping to connect more with the members. In his free time, he loves enjoying the outdoors and exploring new places. He hopes to serve the county well and to gain the ranks within this new area of his career. On August 7th 2022, Patterson was promoted to the rank of Commander.
