Ranks
Listed below are all of our ranks in the proper rank structure, and a general description of their duties.
Head Sheriff
The Head Sheriff is the highest rank in the department, the highest Administrative rank, and they are the face of the department. This person helps look over Administration, public relations with other departments, and properly representing the department. On patrol, they are represented with a five star insignia.
Undersheriff
The Undersheriff position is the second highest position in the department. This person helps mainly look over the department supervisors, and help around with general departmental operations. In addition to this, they manage the supervisor team, and look for Commander recommendations. On patrol, they are represented with a four star insignia.
Assistant Sheriff
The Assistant Sheriff is the third highest position in the department. They assist the Undersheriff with anything they may request. Additionally, they may help with general departmental operation. The Assistant Sheriff helps the Commander with finding and recruiting command staff. On patrol, they are represented with a three star insignia.
Commander
The Commander is the fourth highest position in the department. They are the primary head of command staff, and report all actions to the main Sheriffs, (or HICOMM). They make sure all command staff are performing properly, and may take action against them with approval of the Undersheriff, or other HICOMM. On patrol, they are represented with a two star insignia.
Major
The Major is the fifth highest rank in the department, and the lowest Administrative rank. Two Majors manage two fields in the department, and may lead subdivisions. These fields are.
Patrol Division
Investigative & Administrative Division
The Patrol Major is in charge of actions from all active supervisors, and deputies, and oversee all general field operation. The Investigative Major typically helps assist the Administrative team, and Firearms, Alcohol, and Drug Enforcement team with any tasks they may have. Additionally, they help lead the patrol division with the Patrol Major, and other field command staff. On patrol, they are represented with a one star insignia.
Command Staff
Captain
The Captain is the sixth highest rank in the department, highest command staff rank, and they command three of their assigned districts on field. In addition they may lead, or assist in subdivisions, and assist in major fields of the department, these fields are.
Patrol Division
Investigative & Administrative Division
The Patrol Captain helps assist the Patrol Major, and helps in maintaining command of deputies, lower command staff ranks, and most likely oversee general field operation. The Investigative Captain helps assist the Administrative Major with both the Administrative team, and Firearm, Alcohol, and Drug Enforcement team with any tasks, as well as helping lead the patrol division with the Patrol Captain & Patrol Major, along with any other field command staff. On patrol, they are represented with two-bars.
Lieutenant
The Lieutenant position is the middle command staff rank in the department, and they command two of our six districts on the field. In addition they may lead, or assist in subdivisions. They help in the following.
Being in charge of Sergeant actions, and reporting to superiors
Assisting Sergeants, and other Command Staff with duties, including abiding to our SOP.
On patrol, they are represented with a single bar on their collars.
Sergeant
The Sergeant position is the lowest command staff rank in the department, and they command one of our six districts on the field. In addition they may lead, or assist in subdivisions. They help in the following.
Being in charge of all on field deputies within their assigned districts, unless necessary
Making sure all deputies abide by our SOP
Recommend deputy promotions, or outstanding actions to superiors
On patrol, they are represented with three corresponding chevrons on both upper sleeves.
